Aubrey Holden was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but grew up on the Tennessee River in Florence/ Muscle Shoals, Alabama, surrounded by a rich musical heritage. Aubrey found his passion for music early on in life from singing with his grandfather, Edsel Holden Sr., a jazz singer and trumpet player. Growing up, he always knew he wanted to make a career out of music. He discovered his love for songwriting at the beginning high school, when he first picked up a guitar. In fall of 2013, Aubrey moved back to Nashville to attend Belmont University. He graduated in May of 2017 with a degree in commercial music, with voice as the primary instrument, and an emphasis in music business.
